Tie rod mounted cylinders are mounted from the same stress-proof steel tie rods used to compress the head and cap to the barrel. Tie rods can extend from the head, the cap or both. The MDX is a double rod cylinder containing two rods with a single piston.

Clevis & Pivot Mounted Cylinders

Clevis & pivot mounted cylinders are required when a load must move through an arc. Clevis & pivot cylinders may need to be de-rated or used with stop tubes for long stroke applications, especially without a guided load.
Flange Mounted Cylinders

Flange mounted cylinders are mounted via square or rectangular flanges attached to the head or cap. Flange mounts ensure the thrust force of the cylinder remains in the centre of the rod, as long as there is no rod misalignment.

Tie rod mounted cylinders are mounted from the same stress-proof steel tie rods used to compress the head and cap to the barrel. The tie rod mount is simple and economical, as well as functionally excellent in tension applications.Trunnion mounted cylinders are heavy duty pivoting cylinders with pintles mounted to the head, cap or intermediate position. Although superior to clevis or pivot mounted cylinders, they may still require stop tubes in long stroke applications.
